If you've seen all of Torchwood season three
Spoilers for season 3 beyond here and in the comments.

I haven't seen any of this season yet (saving the eps until I'm not spending 5 hours a night watching and posting about Le Tour), but I have been spoiled. So. Is Ianto dead-dead? There's some kind of set-up for bringing him back, right? How could this have not leaked?

I ask because honestly, I'm not sure if I will even bother to watch the eps I have so far if he's not coming back. The show wasn't all about J/I for me as it was for some, but dear gods, there's no way I'm watching a show that's at least half-focused on Gwen. I'd rather spork my eyes out, thanks. *g*

I haven't watched so I can't answer, but WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

Dude. I'm so not into Gwen and if that's true about Ianto, I won't bother watching what I have.

Well, only 4 of the 5 episodes has aired. Who knows what's going to happen in episode 5.

Supposedly they were "keeping it real" with this Children of the Earth series and weren't going to pull any punches. Jack pissed off some aliens, they flooded the building with a virus, it killed everyone in the building. Ianto was with Jack. They had a touching death scene.

Gwen went to see their bodies. Jack woke up. Ianto is pale and lifeless and very much dead.

There is one more episode to go, but I'm not holding out hope. It looks like a couple characters they've introduced will join the team, but with the loss of three major characters, I don't know how well the show will continue.

Ianto was my favorite character on Torchwood, and for me he sort of tied things back to Torchwood 1. I was really looking forward to watching him grow into his own next season, if there is one. If he really is dead, I'm done.

He appears dead to me. And the spoilers out there for Day Five would indicate that he stays that way.

I am beyond sad to the point of being furious with TPTB. I do not understand why they did this.

Based on what I've seen and read, he's dead-dead. As is this show to me, unless they fix it. I've been a mess all night, since it was confirmed.

He is dead dead but there are some gorgeous Jack/Ianto scenes through the episodes and Ianto's past and Jack's past and their talks together and even though I am devastated he's dead, I am glad we were given those snippets of life to view. So it may be worth the watch just to see those if nothing else.

I was totally unspoiled before I watched the ep, and am very POd right now. They finally give him something to do other than make coffee and screw Jack, and then OFF him???? WTF??? I would have thought RTD would be the last person to do the 'kill the gay sidekick' routine. Grrrrrr.
